Morocco/Mauritania: shared desire to strengthen cooperation in crafts and ESS

Rabat – Strengthening cooperation in crafts and the social and solidarity economy was at the center of an interview, Wednesday in Rabat, between the Minister of Tourism, Crafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatim-Zahra Ammor, and the Mauritanian Minister of Vocational Training, Crafts and Trades, Mohamed Maalainine Ould Eyih.

This meeting was an opportunity for a fruitful exchange around common issues in the craft sector and the social and solidarity economy, indicates the press release from the Ministry of Tourism, Crafts and the Social Economy. and Solidarity, noting that both parties expressed their desire to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

This strengthened collaboration will focus on several priority areas, namely training programs, management methods for training establishments and craft infrastructures, the regulation and structuring of sectors and the training of trainers.

Thus, the discussions focused on several key aspects, notably the structural organization of the sector, the role of craft chambers, professional training programs and sectoral promotion strategies, adds the same source.

The dialogue also extended to the field of the social and solidarity economy, with particular emphasis on the creation and development of cooperatives.

As part of this visit, the Mauritanian delegation had the opportunity to concretely discover the Moroccan experience. In this sense, a guided tour was organized in craft training and qualification centers in Salé, as well as in craft cooperatives in the city, thus offering a practical overview of Moroccan initiatives in these areas.
