This training which started this Monday at the University of N’zerekoré will last three (3) days. It aims to strengthen the skills of agents in terms of customs control in order to enable them to effectively fight against fraud in all forms. .
In his community, Colonel Lanciné Condé returned to the merits of this training. “The general objective of this project is to contribute to consolidating the macroeconomic framework through better mobilization of tax and customs revenue. The beneficiary services are the State structures in charge of carrying out tax reforms and mobilizing domestic resources, in particular the General Directorate of Customs, the General Directorate of Taxes, the Court of Auditors, the regulatory authority of public markets, the private investment promotion agency and MAMRI. Thus, to enable the General Directorate of Customs to rationally manage its revenue recovery and mobilization actions, these series of management training sessions are planned aimed at strengthening the capacities of agents,” explained Colonel Lanciné Condé, HR and Training/ Customs.
Furthermore, he challenged the agents on the challenges they face. “Today more than yesterday, the African continent is resolutely committed to the prospect of a customs union within the framework of sub-regional economic integration (ECOWAS). We will have to prepare for it, because it will induce profound changes in our working methods and will open our borders to leave only control gateways. It is with this aim of better preparing customs services for these sub-regional and continental deadlines that the Customs Control theme was chosen. Because reconciling “control better and less” with the free movement of goods and people will be the biggest challenge for all African customs,” said the Colonel.
For his part, the prefect of N’zerekoré, Colonel Alsény Camara, welcomed the importance of this meeting.
“This training, which is part of the development of the capacities of customs agents, is a great opportunity. It is also part of the refoundation advocated by Lieutenant General Mamady Doumbouya since his accession to power on September 5, 2021. I remind participants to be attentive in order to appropriate the content of this training », Launched the prefect.
Finally, the prefect thanked the new authorities and partners for the effectiveness of this training.
