Azerbaijan has become the second key market where Trendyol Group plans to significantly expand its investments.

As Day.Az reports with reference to Trend, this was stated by the head of the international expansion department of Trendyol Group My husband Chagry Ylandil (Irem Çağrı Yılandil) на “INMerge Innovation Summit“, which PASHA Holding organizes for the fourth time.

“Azerbaijan has become our priority market for increasing investment. We see this move as strategically important, with an emphasis on finding and training local talent to support our growth. E-commerce not only involves technology and innovation, but also requires professionals in IT, databases and other areas,” Yylandil emphasized.

She also noted that Trendyol Group is actively considering Eastern Europe as an important direction for expansion.

“We are planning to enter the markets of Eastern Europe, including countries such as Bulgaria, Romania, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Before entering a new market, we conduct thorough research: we analyze the population, the level of credit card penetration, competition and scarce product categories. This data is collected before work begins, and then we use our technology resources and analytics teams to get feedback from customers,” she added.

Yylandil emphasized the importance of adapting to local preferences.

“For example, in the Gulf countries, the popularity of cash on delivery is lower than in Romania. In Azerbaijan, people prefer pick-up points (PUDO), while in Turkey this is rare, and home delivery is more in demand there. We take these features into account and adapt our services to local conditions. To successfully enter the market, it is necessary to integrate local payment systems and establish cooperation with local partners,” noted Yylandil.

She also emphasized the importance of building local teams to better understand customer needs and operate effectively in each market.

It should be noted that the “INMerge Innovation Summit”, organized by PASHA Holding, is designed to contribute to the development of the innovation ecosystem in Azerbaijan by uniting startups and investors, providing opportunities for cooperation, and also creating a platform for the exchange of ideas and experiences between all participants in the innovation ecosystem.
