Belif Lab, the agency of the group Eyelet, said, “It is not true that New Jeans plagiarized.” This is a statement regarding the ‘suspicion of New Jeans plagiarism’ by Min Hee-jin, executive director of Adore.
On the 11th, Belif Lab explained, “The claim that Aylet plagiarized New Genes’ plan is not true.”
Belif Lab explained, “Islet’s branding strategy and concept were finalized and shared internally on July 21, 2023.”
Additionally, the fact that the informant sent the ‘planning plan’ means that it cannot affect the Eyelet concept as of August 28, 2023.
Earlier on this day, Director Min Hee-jin claimed at the preliminary injunction hearing, including voting rights exercise, heard by Civil Agreement Division 50 of the Seoul Central District Court (Chief Judge Kim Sang-hoon), “I reported that Aylet’s plan was the same as New Genes’ plan.”
An internal employee at Hive said that the creative director of Eyelet had requested New Jeans’ plan from the planning stage of Eyelet.
Director Min Hee-jin said, “The informant delivered the materials at the request of the creative director of Eyelet, but I never imagined that they would make them the same. It seems that all the same materials have been submitted to the court, and I saw and referenced all of them, so why do they keep continuing?” He said he thought, “Why don’t you say no?”
In other words, I am uncomfortable with Belif Lab claiming that the plagiarism suspicion is false.
Meanwhile, Adore announced on August 27th, “We held a board meeting on this day and appointed Adore executive director Kim Joo-young as the new CEO.”
He continued, “The new CEO, Kim Joo-young, is a human resources management (HR) expert with experience in various industries, and will take on the role of stabilizing Adore’s organization and internal reorganization.”
Adore said, “Former CEO Min Hee-jin will step down as CEO, but will remain as an internal director of Adore,” and “She will also continue to take charge of New Jeans’ production duties.”
In addition, “Adore’s internal organization will also separate production and management,” he said. “This was a multi-label operation principle that has been consistently applied to all other labels (in Hive), but Adore has been the exception, with the CEO handling both production and management.” “I have been in charge,” he emphasized.
On the other hand, Executive Director Min Hee-jin objected to this and stated, “This decision to dismiss is an illegal decision that directly contradicts the contract between shareholders and the decision to injunction to ban the exercise of voting rights.”
CEO Min Hee-jin said, “He was dismissed against his will, not resigned. He claimed, “The Adore board of directors just unilaterally notified me that they would put me in charge of producing duties.”
Afterwards, on September 11, New Genes conducted a live broadcast on YouTube and requested Hive to reinstate executive director Min to the position of CEO of Adore by September 25.
Director Min Hee-jin also demanded to be reinstated as CEO on September 13 and announced her intention to enter into a lawsuit once again by filing a lawsuit against Hive for a provisional injunction, including the exercise of voting rights.
