Altering the results obtained in the Technical Mechanical Review of the vehicles, violating the veracity of the information reported in the RUNT, violating the safety principle that guides the transportation system, not having all the conditions of the authorization and not providing information to Vigía about its financial statements, among others, are the main causes of sanctions to the Automotive Diagnostic Centers -CDA by the Superintendency of Transportation.

Since 2022, the entity has sanctioned 123 CDAs nationwide. Among the sanctions are fines and suspension of authorizations granted by the Ministry of Transportation. In this period, 205 investigations have been opened, of which 82 are active to date.

The Superintendent of Transportation (e), Hermes José Castro Estrada highlighted that “According to Law 769/02, an Automotive Diagnostic Center is a state or private entity dedicated to the technical-mechanical examination of motor vehicles and the review of ecological control in accordance with environmental standards. Therefore, I want to highlight that the responsibility of these traffic support organizations for road safety is fundamental, since this review determines whether a vehicle can circulate in ideal technical-mechanical conditions and within the framework of legality.

To continue promoting prevention and promotion, the Superintendency of Transportation has published on its website the Decalogue of Automotive Diagnostic Centers (CDA), where you can find ten key points that you should take into account when talking about these traffic support organizations. .

If the vehicle is not approved in the first inspection, the user may make the pertinent repairs and correct the defective aspects of the vehicle, within the following fifteen (15) calendar days, counted from the date on which it was failed. Once the above is done, the user may return to the same CDA for a second inspection, which will have no additional cost.
