An 87-year-old walker was hit and killed by the shock wave of a landing rescue helicopter in Plymouth, southern England. An 80-year-old was taken to hospital with a broken hip, police said. She was hit in her car by a slammed car door from the gust of wind.
According to the police, the British coastguard helicopter landed on the landing pad of a hospital in Plymouth in the morning with an injured person on board. The 87-year-old, who was walking on a nearby footpath, was knocked over by the airflow from the helicopter landing and fell badly. She died later in hospital from head injuries.
