“Abu Jannah” meets the British Ambassador

Deputy Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Head of the Southern Development Agency, and Acting Minister of Health, Ramadan Abu Jannah, met on Thursday with the British Ambassador to Libya, Martin Longden.

The official Facebook page of Representative Abu Janah explained that the meeting “discussed a number of issues, most notably economic cooperation and political developments. The meeting also addressed the urgent need for all Libyan parties to come together to develop and rebuild the south.”

The two sides also discussed issues related to medical cooperation, ways to enhance cooperation with regard to technology transfer and localization in Libya, and inviting British companies specialized in hospital management to operate some health facilities in Libya, as well as the importance of supporting and strengthening cooperation and partnerships between the private sectors in the two countries.

Abu Jannah pointed to “the reputation and quality of British medicines,” expressing his support for “increasing imports of medicines and medical equipment from the United Kingdom, and working to request urgency from the relevant authorities in settling any previous debts and accelerating the implementation of supply contracts signed for British companies through the Public Tenders Committee and with the approval of the Authority.” Administrative control.”

For his part, the British Ambassador stressed during the meeting his country’s support for the political process in Libya, stressing the importance of moving forward towards organizing free and fair elections to achieve stability in the country.

The meeting was attended by Counselor Ahmed Al-Ayat, Head of the Southern Office, and on the British side, Counselor for Political Affairs, Farouk Al-Najeh, and member of the political team at the embassy, ​​Yoon Hersin.
