Dhaka: Mohammad Yunus, the Chief Advisor to the Government of Bangladesh, appointed after the resignation of Sheikh Hasina, is surrounded by his own statements. After which the caretaker government of Bangladesh had to give clarification. In fact, Mohammad Yunus, in an interview with Voice of America a few days ago, had mentioned “pressing the reset button” on the history of Bangladesh. After which people started criticizing him. People alleged that due to his hatred for Yunus Sheikh Hasina, he wants to forget the 1971 liberation war, the glorious history of Bangladesh and the sacrifices of Bangladeshis.
Clarification given on reset button statement
Seeing the growing criticism, Muhammad Yunus’ press wing has clarified that his recent comment on “pressing the reset button” is being misinterpreted by some people. “He (Professor Yunus) did not mean to erase the glorious history of Bangladesh,” the chief adviser’s press wing said in a statement on Thursday.
Said- Reset statement does not mean this
The press wing said, “When Chief Advisor Professor Yunus talked about pressing the reset button, he meant to make a fresh start from the corrupt politics that has destroyed all the major institutions of Bangladesh, pushing the economy to the brink of collapse And took away the voting rights and civil liberties of millions of people.” “When you press the reset button, you reset the software to start over. It does not change the hardware. The 1971 liberation war created the hardware of Bangladesh,” the statement said.
‘Count’ of Bangladesh Liberation War conducted
Professor Yunus, who arrived in Dhaka on August 8 to take over as chief advisor to the interim government, told reporters at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport that the student-led mass uprising in July-August was his “second liberation” – the first Mukti was the glorious fight for the independence of the country in 1971. When the independence of Bangladesh was declared, Professor Yunus was an assistant professor at Middle Tennessee State University.
Counted his work in Bangladesh Liberation War
“Soon after Bangladesh declared independence he formed the Bangladesh Citizens Committee and launched a US-wide campaign to persuade the US government to recognize Bangladesh,” the statement said. According to the press wing statement, Professor Yunus published Bangladesh Newsletter to inform the world about the massacre carried out by Pakistani Army in Bangladesh.
