In a joint press release made public following the talks held, Friday in Rabat, between the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans living abroad, Nasser Bourita, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic Federative of Brazil, Mauro Vieira, the two parties welcomed the excellent quality of the partnership between Morocco and Brazil, reaffirming the commitment to optimize its great potential, particularly in the areas of agri-food, green economy and logistics.

Bourita and Vieira agreed to work for the establishment of joint cooperation programs between the Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation (AMCI) and the Brazilian Cooperation Agency (ABC), for the benefit of the African continent, while expressing their satisfaction with the continued development of the legal framework governing relations between the two parties and which has been particularly enriched in recent years, reflecting, in doing so, the strategic nature of the Morocco-Brazil dialogue, the same source indicates.

In this regard, they welcomed the new Agreements and Memoranda of Understanding finalized or at an advanced stage of finalization, the conclusion of which will give new impetus to the bilateral partnership and will allow institutional actors and economic operators of the two countries to implement implement innovative initiatives, actions and projects in several areas of common interest.

These include the Mutual Administrative Assistance Agreement in customs matters between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Federative Republic of Brazil, the Memorandum of Understanding on the promotion of Tanger Med as a logistics platform among Brazilian operators, between Tangier Med Special Agency (TMSA) and the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, of the Memorandum of Understanding relating to the research, development and purchase of aeronautical parts manufactured by the Midparc industrial park, between Embraer and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, as well as the Memorandum of Understanding on the organization of the Business Forum, between the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE) and the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce.

According to the same source, the two ministers welcomed the establishment of a Business Forum in the coming months, which should further strengthen commercial relations between the two countries, promote new synergies between public and private actors and strengthen complementarity between the different productive sectors in Morocco and Brazil.

They also welcomed the reopening, from the end of 2024, of the Casablanca-Sao Paulo air link, which will facilitate commercial and tourist flows between the two countries, also welcoming the creation of the post of military attaché in the Embassies in the two respective capitals.

Furthermore, Morocco expressed its appreciation of Brazil’s exemplary democratic trajectory and the vitality of the social and cultural model that Brazil has chosen, as well as the leadership of President Luis Inácio Lula Da Silva in his efforts to reduce poverty. poverty and the promotion of development. He also praised his defense of South-South dialogue and the initiatives carried out by Brazil within the UN, the G20 and the BRICS Grouping aimed at an in-depth reform of global governance bodies.

The two ministers affirmed that this new horizon is based on Morocco and Brazil sharing the same values ​​of openness, tolerance and democracy, is based on a particular historical depth and draws its relevance from the convergence of views of the two countries and in a sustained strategic dialogue on international issues.

Welcoming the constructive positions of their countries in favor of sustainable development and the promotion of human rights and reaffirming, as such, the constant commitment of Morocco and Brazil to fight against all forms of racism and xenophobia , they stressed the need to strengthen international cooperation in the fight against transnational organized crime.

Underlining the importance of major sporting events, which represent opportunities to promote development and social inclusion, the two officials, in this regard, congratulated themselves on the organization of the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil and the 2030 World Cup in Morocco, Spain and Portugal.

The two ministers welcomed the density of the exchanges of visits, in both directions, which attests to the solidity of the links existing between the two countries and confirms the importance of dialogue between the Brazilian and Moroccan authorities.

The Brazilian minister, who is making an official visit to Morocco at the invitation of his Moroccan counterpart, sent an invitation to Mr. Bourita to make an official visit to Brazil, on a date to be mutually agreed.
