‘Waiting for Godot’ performance canceled from the 13th to the 20th
Due to actor Lee Soon-jae’s health, the performance of the play ‘Waiting for Godot’ was canceled for an additional week.
On the 11th, the performance production company Park Company announced, “Due to teacher Lee Soon-jae’s health, the performance from October 13 to October 20 has been canceled.”
The production company said, “We have inevitably decided to cancel the performance following the doctor’s opinion that (Lee Soon-jae) needs more rest due to his current physical decline. We are disappointed with the audience who reserved the performance early and waited for the day to see the performance.” “I am sincerely sorry for this, and I would like to express my words on behalf of the teacher that I will focus on my recovery so that I can return to the stage in good health.”
He continued, “We apologize for having to additionally announce the cancellation of the performance to the audience who have been waiting for the performance with worry and concern.”
Previously, on the 10th, production company Park Company announced through its official social networking service (SNS), “Due to teacher Lee Soon-jae’s health, we have canceled today’s performance.”
At the time, the production company said, “The teacher expressed his will to stand on stage in order to keep his lifelong belief that he must keep his promises to the audience, but the doctor’s strong recommendation that he needed rest and the production company also prioritized the teacher’s health, so he had no choice but to do so. “We have decided to cancel the performance,” he explained.
Meanwhile, ‘Waiting for Godot’ is a comedy play that tells the story of the main actors in the play ‘Waiting for Godot’, and has been meeting audiences at the Yes 24 Stage in Jongno-gu, Seoul since the 7th of last month. Lee Soon-jae plays the role of Ester, Estragon’s double in the play.
