“Abramovich initiates tournament with Maccabi and Hapoel Tel Aviv”

by time news

After taking a step back following the war in Ukraine and deciding to put Chelsea up for sale, it seems that Roman Abramovich is already thinking about his next move in football and it includes Maccabi and Hapoel Tel Aviv. A new one that will include the Tel Aviv duo as well as teams from Russia, Serbia and Bulgaria.

According to the publication, Abramovich has already signed a number of teams ahead of the new tournament. Apart from Maccabi and Hapoel Tel Aviv, there are also CSKA and Spartak Moscow, Zenit St. Petersburg, the Red Star, Partizan Belgrade, Vivodina, Ludogorets, CSKA and Levsky Sofia.

Of course, this is only the initial plan and even if the project is implemented – which is a big question mark – this list may still change. It has been reported that the groups mentioned may also be joined by groups from Kazakhstan and Finland. It should be noted that it is not clear what the reaction of the groups involved in such a project will be and whether they will respond positively in light of the developments following the sanctions against Russia in light of its invasion of Ukraine.

Abramovitch announced last week that he had decided to put Chelsea up for sale, which he has owned since 2003. According to a report in England, he even refused an offer of three billion euros and demanded four billion.
