At the 19th International Exhibition of Cultural Tourism taking place from October 8 to 10 in the Bulgarian city of Veliko Tarnovo, a photo exhibition was opened “Shusha is the historical and cultural pearl of Azerbaijan”.

Day.Az was informed about this by the Azerbaijani Embassy in Bulgaria.

On the initiative of the embassy and with the support Baku Media Center The exhibition displays photographs of the fascinating nature of Shushi, the historical monuments located here and the original colorful architecture of the city.

Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Bulgaria Huseyn Huseynov noted that the city of Shusha, being one of the trade and economic centers of the Caucasus, occupies an irreplaceable place in the history and culture of Azerbaijan and has contributed to oriental literature and art.

Recalling that in 2020 Shusha was liberated from almost 30 years of occupation, and in 2021 declared the cultural capital of Azerbaijan, the diplomat emphasized that the city was restored under the direct control of President Ilham Aliyev and turned into a real pearl not only of Azerbaijan, but also of the entire Caucasus .

Also in the tourism section of the exhibition in Veliko Tarnovo, the embassy organized a national stand promoting the cultural and tourism potential of Azerbaijan, where photographs reflecting the picturesque nature, ancient history and unique traditions of our country are presented; national souvenirs and carpets. Guests received detailed information about them and had the opportunity to taste national cuisine.

The International Exhibition of Cultural Tourism is held annually with the participation of the Minister of Tourism of the Republic of Bulgaria, heads of central and local authorities of this country, officials in the field of culture and tourism from more than 10 countries, as well as representatives of over 30 local and international municipalities, and is the only specialized exhibition platform in this area in the Balkan region.
