Russia has been attacking Ukraine since the 24th. Russia has intensified its offensive, especially targeting key cities in Ukraine, Kiev and Kharkiv. Many parts of Russia were under attack. And many more lives were lost. Despite this the war continued. In this situation, Russia did not reach an agreement in the first round of talks between the Ukrainian countries. This was followed by the second round of talks. In it, it was decided to help on humanitarian grounds.
Russia has announced a temporary ceasefire to allow people to leave the cities of Volnova and Mariupol safely. Meanwhile, several companies have suspended services to Russia as hundreds of civilians have been killed in a series of Russian attacks on Ukraine. International money changers Visa and MasterCard have said they will suspend services to Russia in protest of Russia’s attack on Ukraine.
Visa CEO Al Kelly said in a statement that transactions would be cut off in the coming days due to Russia’s attacks on Ukraine. Also, cards issued in Russia will not work abroad once Visa cards are banned. Cards issued abroad do not work in Russia. Similarly MasterCards also announced the discontinuation of services. Russia has said its customer service services will not be affected by the announcement of Visa and MasterCard.
