Ravichandran Ashwin breaks Kapil Dev’s record in Test cricket.

Ravichandran Ashwin, a senior Indian cricketer and top spinner in contemporary cricket, took 430 wickets in 84 Tests and played his first Test against Sri Lanka as the 85th Test.
Batting first, India declared their first innings at 574 for 8 in the first innings. Jadeja top-scored for India with 175, Rishabh Pund with 96 and Ashwin with 61. Following this, Sri Lanka rolled to 174 in the first innings. Sri Lanka were bowled out for 178 in the second innings. Following this, the Indian team won by an innings and 222 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the series.
Ashwin, who took 2 wickets in the first innings of the match, took 4 wickets in the 2nd innings. In total, Ashwin took 6 wickets in the match. Ashwin’s 435th international Test wicket in the 2nd innings. With that wicket, Ashwin surpassed Kapil Dev’s record of 434 wickets in Test cricket.
Ashwin, who has taken 436 wickets, is second only to Anil Kumble (619) in the list of bowlers who have taken the most wickets in Test cricket, behind Kapil Dev (434). Ashwin has taken 434 wickets in 85 Tests.
Ashwin is the fourth highest wicket-taker in international Test cricket, behind Sri Lanka’s Rangana Herath (433). In the top 3 are 3 legend spinners Muttiah Muralitharan, Shane Warne and Anil Kumble respectively.
