Tondela found and beat Leixões, 2-1, in a match that counted for the 8th round of the Series.
In the first half, in terms of goal opportunities, the visitors were the most effective scorers, and in the 26th minute, Ricardo Valente took advantage of Werton’s assist to make it 1-0.
This was, in fact, the result that remained until the break and despite being in control of the entire second half, Tondela could only be satisfied in extra time. At 90+7, a quick throw left Cícero free from marking and inside the area he assisted Miro for the equaliser.
But the real explosion of joy came six minutes later (you read that right), when the referee pointed to the eleven meter mark and then, Roberto didn’t tremble and shot to count.
A highlight for Roberto, the Tondela striker, who has scored five goals in the last five meetings.
With this win, Tondela now has 16 points and is solidified in third place in Serie II, four ahead of Benfica B, who have one game less than the Beira team.
