After a year and a half at sea to complete a grand tour of the European coasts, the scientific schooner Tara has finally returned to her home port, Lorient. And the smiles of the researchers, sailors and all the members of the Tara Ocean Foundation, who enjoy the last miles at sea on the deck of the sailing boat, leave little doubt: this 13th expedition, called Tara Europa, promises to be a full success. The figures of what has been achieved since April 2023 are staggering, with around 70,000 samples taken by more than 200 scientists in a hundred places along the European coast, from Norway to Greece.
