/ Real Madrid, the leader of the Spanish Football League, received a painful blow today, Monday, with the injury of its right back, Dani Carvajal, to his left calf, without specifying the duration of his absence from the field.
The Capital Club said in a statement: “After the examinations conducted on our player Dani Carvajal by the Real Madrid medical staff, it was found that he suffers from an injury to the posterior muscle of his left leg. We are awaiting the development of his condition.”
According to many local media, the period of absence of Carvajal (31 years old) may reach a month.
Carvajal played the first half of the 2-0 victory over Granada on Saturday in the 15th round of the league, before he was replaced after the break by midfielder Lucas Vazquez.
Carvajal joins a long list of injuries at Real Madrid, including goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, defender Eder Militao, and midfielders Aurélien Chouamini, Arda Guler, Eduardo Camavinga, and Luka Modric, in addition to striker Vinicius Junior. Real occupies the top of the standings with 38 points on goal difference from its runner-up. Girona is the surprise of the season, four points ahead of third-placed champion Barcelona.
