Jon Moxley Defeats Bryan Danielson at AEW WrestleDream

AEW World Championship Match

Match Result: Jon Moxley def. Bryan Danielson via submission.

The main event began with intense action as Moxley and Danielson clashed well before the match officially started. Moxley took an aggressive approach, strangling Danielson with wires while Europe’s “Final Countdown” blared through the arena. Once the match was underway, Danielson struck with a Busaiku Knee, nearly securing a quick victory.

Marina Shafir, Moxley’s accomplice, continually disrupted Danielson, which turned the tide in Moxley’s favor during the middle part of the match. Despite Moxley’s control, Danielson showcased remarkable resilience. A turning point occurred when Moxley intercepted Danielson’s suicide dive attempt and executed a Paradigm Shift onto the exposed concrete floor.

Though Danielson fought back valiantly, including hitting another Busaiku Knee and applying the LeBelle Lock, Moxley ultimately sealed the victory with a Gotch-style piledriver and a reverse chin lock, ending Danielson’s title reign and full-time career.

Post-Match Chaos

After the match, the Blackpool Combat Club attempted to further attack Danielson, but Darby Allin and Wheeler Yuta intervened. However, Yuta’s intentions soon shifted as he turned on Allin, restraining him while the BCC continued their assault on Danielson. Despite efforts from various AEW stars, including Jeff Jarrett and Private Party, the attack persisted as Claudio Castagnoli stomped on a steel chair wrapped around Danielson’s head. The BCC eventually escaped with the AEW World title amidst the chaos.
