At the Azerbaijan State Academic Philharmonic named after Muslim Magomayev as part of a major project dedicated to the 530th anniversary Muhammad Fuzulia unique concert of choral music “Spirit of the Steppe” took place as part of the “Days of Fuzuli“, reports Day.Az with reference to Trend.
At the opening of the evening, the President of the Aktota Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, Raimkulova, noted that Muhammad Fizuli is one of the greatest Azerbaijani poets, and emphasized the role of his work in the promotion of universal values, the enormous influence on the development of Azerbaijani and all Eastern literature. Fizuli devoted his entire life to poetry, studied many sciences, and was one of the major scientists of his time. Fizuli’s works had a great influence on the development of national music, his ghazals gave a powerful impetus to the development of the art of mugham, famous composers wrote music for the poet’s works.
The concert program featured the chamber choir of the Aktobe Regional Philharmonic named after Gaziza Zhubanova (artistic director Merbol Kuspanov) and the Azerbaijan State Choir Chapel (artistic director and chief conductor – People’s Artist Gulbaji Imanova). The program featured works by Azerbaijani and Kazakh composers and folk songs.
