Tonight (Sunday), President Yitzhak Herzog addressed the ongoing war in Ukraine and expressed support for Prime Minister Naftali Bennett’s attempts to mediate between world leaders and bring an end to the crisis. In his speech at the swearing-in ceremony at the President’s House, Herzog said that “listening and sensitivity, seeing the other in trouble and coming to his aid, are at the core of our values as a people and as a nation.”

“In this context, and in a time of global turmoil, I would like to pay tribute to those female and male soldiers who spend nights on humanitarian aid on the Ukrainian war front. From the Foreign Ministry, national institutions, Israeli society and aid organizations “No organizational affiliation operates under enormous dangers and difficulties to save lives,” he noted. “This is the beautiful face of Israel, this is the beautiful face of our people, who act in the spirit of the words of Sages, according to which” everyone who sustains one soul, exalts himself as if there were a full world. “

“And back to the legal world, I would like to add another aspect that also concerns the entire Israeli legal system.
