Three days after Greece‘s victory at Wembley and the shadow of George Baldock‘s death hanging heavily over the players, the National Team will face Ireland today (12/10) at the “Georgios Karaiskakis” packed Nations League.
The match will start at 21:45 and will be broadcast by Novasports Prime HD and Alpha
Tickets sold out
The tickets for the match between Greece and Ireland are sold out and as the OPE usually says, “due honor will be paid to the memory of George Baldock, who left us so suddenly and so soon”.
Notice of the OPE
“The Hellenic Football Association is grateful to the fans for the response they showed in purchasing tickets for the sell-out match between Greece and Ireland on 13 October. The friends of the representative group honor in this way both the National Team and the memory of George Baldock, because the game is the farewell in Greece to the international footballer.
The aim of the Federation is to connect the national team as directly and as warmly as possible to all Greeks, and the full stands of the “blue and white” games strengthen the ties between the team and the fans. In reality it is not two sides but a living and united organisation, with footballers, coaches, team members and fans as an integral and inseparable part of it.
The best of the above was shown in the sold out event for the game against Ireland. The “G. Karaiskakis” will be full. The National Team will be supported as it deserves and proper respect will be given to the memory of George Baldock, who left us so suddenly and too soon.”
