Saïdia: The FRMF pays tribute to former internationals from the Oriental region

During this ceremony, attended by Jamal Kaouachi and Mohamed Houar, members of the FRMF steering committee, representing Fouzi Lekjaa, president of the FRMF, as well as Walid Regragui and members of the national “A” team.

These honorable mentions include Mohamed El Filali, Kamal Smiri, Rachid Nekrouz, Mohamed Merzak, Mustapha Tahiri, El Hachmi El Brazi, Hamida Boushaba, Houssine Bouchakhchakh, Yahia El Harasse, Hassan Alla, Abdelhafid Fekkoul, Alaa Eddine Tmimi, Mohamed Biad, Mohamed El Idrissi, and Hamida Belhiouane.

During this ceremony, the speakers underlined the importance of this great initiative to anchor a culture of recognition, while insisting on the need to extend it in the future to all regions of the Kingdom.

This symbolic tribute is recognition of the efforts and sacrifices of these former players from the Oriental region, who contributed to forging the reputation of Moroccan football on the continental and international level.

“We must not forget these former players who marked the history of Moroccan football,” national team coach Walid Regragui told the press, adding that the young players and their predecessors are all part of the same family.

“We are very happy to attend this ceremony because the former players of the national team, who deserve all our respect, have written some of the most beautiful pages of Moroccan football,” he added.

For his part, Jamal Kaouachi, member of the FRMF steering committee, indicated that this ceremony aims to create a bridge between generations and to promote the culture of recognition within society in general, and in the field of football in particular.

This symbolic tribute which took place in a family and good-natured atmosphere is recognition of the efforts and dedication of former players, who contributed to the development of national football and its influence, he noted, noting that this initiative deserves to be extended to other regions of the Kingdom.

Several players honored during this ceremony were keen, in statements to the MAP, to highly commend this very laudable gesture on the part of the FRMF which, in addition to recognition and gratitude, made it possible to bring together in the same room former glories with the members of the national team, whose great achievements are a source of pride for all Moroccans.
