Jeddah: Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency and the Committee for the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People Explore Cooperation Opportunities

Jeddah – The director responsible for the management of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency, Mohamed Salem Cherkaoui, met Monday in Jeddah with the president of the United Nations Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, Sheikh Niang, on ways to strengthen cooperation between the two bodies on issues of common interest.

On this occasion, Mr. Niang praised the action of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, President of the Al-Quds Committee, to spread the values ​​of peace and living together in the region, particularly in Al-Quds Acharif, and to preserve the legal status of the Holy City, said the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency in a press release.

During his meeting with Mr. Cherkaoui on the sidelines of a conference initiated by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah on the theme “Al-Quds and the war against Gaza: Palestinian identity and existence under the threat of obliteration”, Mr. Niang indicated that the UN Committee which he heads wishes to strengthen its cooperation with the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency which reports to the Al-Quds Committee, resulting from the OIC.

For his part, Mr. Cherkaoui praised the appreciable work of the United Nations Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People to promote global awareness of the importance of protecting Al-Quds and preserving its legal status in order to to open the way to acceptable solutions to the Palestinian cause.

Mr. Cherkaoui also hoped that meetings would be held soon to agree on joint actions to be carried out in order to achieve common objectives.
