The new car park of the Bressanone hospital will officially open on Tuesday 15 October, which will go from its “old” 208 to the current 121 parking spaces, a part of which will be reserved for disabled people. However, the capacity of the temporary car park will be halved
near Vizentinum, built as an alternative during the construction phase of the car park
of the hospital and which will still remain active with a capacity of 100 parking spaces.
The health district: «Access to the hospital has improved».
«Structural measures have been adopted to improve access to the hospital – explains the director of the Val d’Isarco health district, Elisabeth Montel – Important points in the planning were accessibility, good lighting, clear signage and a passage safe in the hospital area. With this arrangement we improve the safety and quality of stay both for patients but also for visitors. At the same time, we also want to promote and support accessibility to the hospital by public transport.” In this context, a parking guidance system has also been introduced, which informs those who access the availability of free spaces. In the future, visitors will also be able to continue to park at the temporary “Vinzentinum” car park which will increase from 220 spaces to 100.
An area is accessible only to authorized personnel.
But let’s see what the main innovations introduced with these works will be: the paved area is accessible only to authorized vehicles and can be traveled at a greatly reduced speed. Coming from the east, via Vinzenz Gasser, thanks to the reorganization works, it has been connected to the Old Road of Varna, which allows entry and exit from the new car park and access to the kiosk. Coming from the south, transit is permitted on Via Dante up to the beginning of the paved road, where the relevant signs are also located.
Fifteen minute short stop.
An exception is made for cases of medical emergencies, which can go beyond the reception or use the short-term parking area, available for a maximum of 15 minutes and located in front of the new reception. A 5 million euro project aimed at reducing traffic to make the entrance to the city hospital more functional, welcoming and safe. The project also saw a restyling of the concierge, with the aim of creating more space for staff and making the general appearance of the hospital upon entry more welcoming. The healthcare company finances this project and the Bergmeister studio was commissioned together with the Stifter and Bachmann architecture studio to design the new concierge in the entrance area of the hospital, including traffic planning in the surrounding areas.
