An initiative has been announced aimed at further enhancing Lake Resia, which has become an internationally important destination for its semi-submerged bell tower. The project, launched in recent days, has an impact on the Upper Venosta Valley. «Lake Resia is a visiting card of our province and as such deserves to be valorised».
This was stated by the president, Arno Kompatscher, who participated, together with the councilor Christian Bianchi, in an inspection in Curon Venosta to discuss the redevelopment project of the area surrounding the famous submerged bell tower of Lake Resia. Together with the mayor of Curon, Franz Prieth, the provincial authorities have given the green light to an important initiative aimed at further enhancing this site. The bell tower of Resia, one of the most iconic symbols of South Tyrol, represents a real tourist “hotspot” and attracts thousands of visitors from all over the world every year. With the aim of offering adequate hospitality and enriching the experience of tourists, the new project involves the creation of a multifunctional structure in the area in front of the bell tower. The structure will be equipped with modern tourist services, information spaces on local history, refreshment areas and rest points.
«With this intervention, we intend to improve the entire access area to the view of the Resia bell tower, so as to make the experience for visitors better and enhance even more an iconic place of our Province» said councilor Bianchi. President Kompatscher assured Mayor Franz Prieth that the investment amount initially planned for the tower area project will be increased. The mayor of Curon expressed full satisfaction with the launch of the initiative, underlining how the collaboration between provincial and local administration is giving concrete answers to the needs of the territory
