In a decree signed by the Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralization broadcast this Monday, October 7, 2024 on national television, the rector Kankan Kandia Mara has been suspended from his functions due to serious misconduct.

In his order, General Ibrahima Kalil Condé did not give details of the serious misconduct alleged against his subordinate.

It is also informed that the Secretary General in charge of the local authorities of Kankan prefecture is responsible for acting.

Everything suggests that the recent departure of the rector on the occasion of Independence Day, on the death of Dr. Mohamed Dioubaté accused of burning the image of the president of the transition was the reason for his suspension.
