Islamabad: Nawaz Sharif‘s pain regarding India has come out ahead of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit held in Pakistan. He has once again advocated for good relations with India. Nawaz has said that it would have been great if Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also come to Pakistan to attend the SCO summit. The SCO summit is being organized in Pakistan on 15 and 16 October. A four-member Indian delegation has already reached Pakistan to participate in this conference.
what did nawaz sharif say
In an interview, Nawaz Sharif said, “I have always been a supporter of good relations with India. I hope that there will be an opportunity to revive our relations. It would have been great if Prime Minister Narendra Modi also attended the SCO summit. “I hope that he (PM Modi) and we will get a chance to sit together in the near future.”
Praised India’s Chandrayaan-3
This is not the first time that Nawaz Sharif has advocated good relations with India. He has talked about improving relations with India on several occasions before. After returning to Pakistan from London after a long time, Nawaz Sharif had said during a program that his country is asking for money from the world, while India has reached the moon. He had also said, “Today India has 600 billion dollars in treasury. India is hosting G20, but Pakistan is demanding 1 billion dollars each from the world including China and Arab countries. In such a situation, what do we have in front of them? Respect is left.”
Confessed guilty of Kargil war
In May 2024, Nawaz Sharif had admitted ‘his mistake in breaking the promise to India’. In a meeting of Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz), Nawaz Sharif had said, “The nuclear blast was a big decision.” You know that it was reported in the Indian Parliament that Pakistan responded with five blasts today. After that Vajpayee Saheb came to Lahore. Do you remember or not?” Sharif said, “Vajpayee Saheb came and made a promise to us. It is a different matter that we filed a petition against the promise. It is our fault in that. We are guilty in that.
