IMPACT OF GENDER ROLES AND STEREOTYPES
[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]This research analyzes the influence that gender roles and stereotypes have on young women who suffer or have suffered from eating disorders (ED). Its goal is to expose the protective and risk factors for eating disorders and analyze young women’s self-perception of their bodies. It seeks to make visible the experiences of discrimination and physical violence they suffer and to increase self-awareness in the face of disadvantageous situations related to women’s body image. Among the main data, it stands out that 87.6% of those interviewed believe the representation of women with body diversity is necessary, more than 82% underline the importance of not talking about the body or physical appearance of women and the need to dissociate health from weight and 90.7% propose not to associate a woman’s success with her body weight or physical appearance.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]Paternity: Maria Calado Otero
