The International Golf Federation (IGF) suspended Russian and Belarusian athletes from their competitions. The decision was made on the recommendations of the International Olympic Committee. The Federation is “saddened by the events in Ukraine.”
Restrictions also apply to Russian and Belarusian officials. The ban applies to all international competitions, including the 2022 World Amateur Tag Team Championship, the IGF said in a statement cited by Insidethegames.
The International Olympic Committee recommended that all sports federations and organizers of competitions refuse to admit Russians to them. The recommendations were followed by a number of federations, including the International Football Federation and the International Ice Hockey Federation.
