Tropical depression could form soon in the Atlantic

by times news cr

In recent days, conditions in the Atlantic have begun to attract the attention of meteorologists due to the possible formation of a tropical depression.

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) reported in the last few hours about a significant disturbance located several hundred miles west of the Cape Verde Islands.

Although it is currently in an unfavorable environment for its development, forecasts suggest a potential change in environmental conditions towards the middle of the week. This could allow the disturbance to evolve into a tropical depression.

The forecast track for this system is westward and west-southwestward, which could take it closer to the Leeward Islands.

Although the probability of development in the next 48 hours is estimated at only 10%, the NHC has indicated that the probability of a tropical depression forming in the next seven days increases to 50%.

In that sense, meteorologists are closely monitoring the system, as even a small change in conditions could result in more rapid development.

It is important to mention that, although the system follows a trajectory that could bring it closer to the islands, weather models also suggest that other factors could divert its course.
