This year, Bar Ilan University will uniquely award the title of “Doctor of Honor” to eight influential women in a variety of fields. Among the recipients of the degree: the creator Hava Alberstein, Dr. Orna Berry, one of the founders of Israeli high-tech, the businesswoman Julia Zaher, the chairman of the Olympic Committee, Yael Arad, the writer Galila Ron-Feder-Amit and the Rebbetzin Malka Bina.
It was the women’s year! A year in which we mark a government with nine incumbent positions, nine CEOs of government ministries, a year in which women make an impact as leading scientists and managers in the health systems.
Names of the women to whom the title will be awarded: Creator Hava Alberstein, Chairman of the Olympic Committee and First Medalist Yael Arad, Founder and Director of the Matan College for Women, Rebbetzin Malka Bina, Dr. Orna Berry, one of the founders of Israeli high-tech, Businesswoman Julia Zohar, Prof. C. Van States is one of the pioneers of research in the field of RNA in the world, the philanthropist Gail Prof and the writer Galila Ron-Feder-Amit.
From the reasons of the selection committee for the selected women:
Hava Alberstein: “We want to cherish and raise the ripples of your influence in Israeli culture, the sounds that connect forever between the past and its connection to the present with a glue of innovation and optimism. Through collaborations with young musicians, you build the future.”
