Former England captain Michael Vaughan recalled late Aussie cricket legend Shane Warne on Friday for India’s all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja’s Mohali Test match. Because Shane Warne is one of the reasons why Jadeja grew up as a player.
Warne, who died of a suspicious heart attack in Thailand on Friday, played a key role in Jadeja’s early life and nicknamed him ‘Rockstar’. Thus, his Mohali Test figures seemed a fitting tribute to spin bowling legend Warne.
Michael Vaughan praised Jadeja for showing this record-breaking all-round talent in his memory, as Warney has named him “Rockstar”.

Jadeja’s 175 is the highest score by an Indian batsman in 7th Test, surpassing Kapil Dev’s record of 1986. By taking five wickets in the first innings, Jadeja became the sixth cricketer and the third Indian to score a century in a Test innings. He eventually finished the game with nine wickets, setting a new Test record of more than 150 runs in a match and the only player to take nine wickets.
