INTERVIEW – The “Little Prince” is running for president of the FFR against the resigning Florian Grill. Criticize the incumbent president ahead of elections scheduled for this Saturday.
Considered one of the best three-quarters in the world in the 1980s, the man nicknamed “the Little Prince” had moved away from the world of rugby to dedicate himself successfully to politics: mayor of Gruissan (Aude) since 2001 and vice-president of the Occitanie region since 2010. At 66 years old, Didier Codorniou (31 selections from 1979 to 1985) has decided to return to his first love and run for president of the FFR against the outgoing Florian Grill.
THE FIGARO. – You carried out a campaign expressed in three months. What priorities have emerged during your discussions with amateur rugby? ?
DIDIER CODORNIOU. – In many club presidents we sense concern, but also the desire to find new lifeblood, to be better supported every day.
