192.3.2 of the Criminal Code against Nargiz Absalamova (illegal entrepreneurship – especially when it is committed by receiving a large amount of income), 193-1.3.1, 193-1.3.2 (legalization of criminally acquired property – when committed to a significant extent by an organized group), charges were brought under section 206.4 (smuggling – when committed by an organized gang), 213.2.1 (evasion of paying taxes – when committed by an organized gang), 320.1 and 320.2 (forgery of documents and use of forged documents)”the lawyer noted.
The new charges could lead to up to 12 years in prison.
Until now, it was not possible to get a response to the lawyer’s statement from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and other official institutions that carried out the investigation.
On November 30 last year, N. Absalamova was detained after being questioned for the second time in the Baku City Police Department regarding the “AbzasMedia case”. He was charged with Article 206.3.2 (group smuggling) of the Criminal Code and sentenced to 3 months in prison. Later, this period was extended twice.
He denies the charges.
According to the previous section, the maximum penalty for the person is 8 years.
