In the ranks of the RSU/MSĘ team, Nečiporuka became the winner of the “Optibet” Latvian Super Cup this fall.
She explains that until now there was no good offer from a foreign club, and suggests that it is because of the previous season, when after getting injured in the match of the Latvian national team, she spent the season in the third league of France.
“That CV doesn’t look good. Plus my small height. I can help in receiving serves. Maybe the Italian club is also trying to strengthen that,” says the second pace player, who decided to start the season at RSU/MSG coached by Inguna Minusa, where there are many Latvian national team players this season. and is satisfied with the time spent at the Riga club.
“I heard about the Italian club’s offer for the first time last week, and now I have to go to Italy quickly,” says the player, adding that she doesn’t know much about her new team either. She knows there is one Brazilian at the club – second pacer Lana Conseisau – but the rest are local players, but coach Luciano Cominetti has received good reviews.
Nechiporuk also played as part of RSU/MSG in the first match of the Challenge Cup 1/32 final in Athens, where the RSU/MSG team lost 1-3 to AEK a week ago. On Tuesday, it was not yet clear whether the volleyball player will be able to participate in the return match in Riga on Wednesday. There were talks about it with the agent, but on Wednesday the athlete assured the LETA agency that her participation in the game is planned for the evening and she will go to Italy on Thursday morning.
“I think that AEK is playable. In Athens, we were “groping” in the first two sets, the coach made several changes, the results of which we saw already in the third set,” explains the volleyball player, adding that the changes in the game plan meant putting more emphasis on the serve.
“In the protocol, the opponents scored a lot of points with the block, but we had much less. However, we attacked many balls in the block, played in defense and scored points in the attack,” notes Nechiporuka.
She believes that the decisive factor in the return matches will be whether the players of the Riga team will be able to maintain their concentration at the end of the set and whether each of those on the field will take the initiative.
“In any case, it won’t be easy,” predicts Nechiporuka.
The athlete mentions that after training and games in the summer in the Latvian national team, she has rested enough and is in good athletic shape.
Costa Volpino has a third round match in the A2 league on Sunday.
“The club wants me to play,” explains the captain of the Latvian national team.
After studying in the USA, Nechiporuka started her professional career in the 2022/2023 season at the Finnish club “Arctic Volley” in Rovaniemi, led by the former head coach of the Latvian men’s national team, Avo Kēl. The last season, after a leg injury sustained in the summer in the Latvian national team, was spent in the third strongest French league – National 2 League – Group D club “Belfort”.
