“Thanks to the transition and the new police service model, where we have delivered more than 6,000 smartphones, our agents have access to information and queries in real time in the palm of their hand,” Villatoro stressed.

One of the recent cases is that of Antonio Ortiz, alias “Toño”, who was captured by the authorities after an intervention in which, upon entering his data into the system, an arrest warrant pending since 2005 for aggravated homicide was found. . This criminal managed to evade justice for almost 20 years, but now he must face the consequences of his actions.

“This subject was intervened and upon entering his data into the system, an arrest warrant was found against him from 2005 for homicide. This criminal remained unpunished for almost 20 years, but now he will have to answer for his pending accounts with justice,” Villatoro added.

The government has promised that Ortiz, like other criminals, will face trial and pay for his crimes in prison.
