Al-Hawaij stresses the necessity of developing the agreements concluded between Libya and Egypt and exploiting joint opportunities

The Minister of Economy and Trade, Mohamed Al-Hawaij, stressed the need to develop the agreements concluded between Libya and Egypt, in a way that enhances opportunities to benefit from modern methods in activating the knowledge economy and mutual benefit.

This came during the Libyan-Egyptian Economic Cooperation and Integration Forum, sponsored by the Ministry of Economy and Trade, and organized by the General Union of Libyan Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, in cooperation with the Federation of Egyptian Industries.

In his speech at the forum, Al-Hawaij urged the two countries to exploit the shared opportunities of natural resources and geographical location. To enhance industrial partnership in all fields, and support technical cooperation, exchange of experiences, and training according to the needs of the labor market.

Al-Hawaij also stressed that the National Unity Government pays great attention to trade and investment relations between the private sector in the two countries, noting that the Ministry of Economy and Trade provides all facilities to local and foreign investors through the investment law and the government’s economic development plan.

For its part, the Egyptian side stressed their keenness to develop trade and investment relations, by organizing events and visits with the participation of business owners and companies in a way that enhances networking opportunities and achieves economic integration between the two countries.

According to the Ministry of Economy and Trade, the topics of the forum focused on the activity of investment and trade relations between chambers of commerce and business owners in both countries, and the obstacles facing businessmen and companies dealing in both countries and ways to address them, in a way that supports networking efforts between the private sector and enhances the investment and trade movement between the two sides.
