Israeli President Isaac Herzog confirmed that he “heard the speech of Naim Qassem, Deputy Secretary-General of the Lebanese Hezbollah,” considering that he “made a mistake like his predecessors before him,” according to what he said.

Herzog added, during his visit to soldiers who were injured in a Hezbollah raid on Haifa, meaning Qasim: “His turn will come, too,” continuing: “Not only is he wrong, but I think his day will inevitably come as well.”

Deputy Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Naeem Qassem, confirmed yesterday, Tuesday, that “the party entered into a direct war with Israel and is no longer facing support for the Gaza Strip only,” stressing that “there is no return for the Israeli settlers to the north except through a ceasefire.” While he called on the Lebanese displaced as a result of the Israeli raids to be patient.

In this context, Israel launched 3 air strikes targeting a residential complex in Haret Hreik in the southern suburb of Beirut, early Wednesday morning, for the first time in days, following a warning issued by the Israeli army, calling for the evacuation of a building in the area.

Five people were also killed as a result of one of the Israeli raids that targeted the headquarters of the Nabatieh municipality and its union of municipalities in southern Lebanon. The Nabatieh Governorate, Howaida Turk, told Agence France-Presse: “11 Israeli raids mainly targeted the city of Nabatieh, forming what looks like a belt of fire.” Noting that: “The mayor of Nabatieh, Ahmed Kahil, along with a number of his work team, are among the dead.”

Earlier on Wednesday morning, the Israeli army issued an urgent warning to the residents of a building in “Haret Hreik” in the southern suburb of Beirut, and demanded that its residents evacuate immediately under the pretext of their presence near interests and facilities belonging to the Lebanese “Hezbollah”.

The army spokesman, Avichay Adraee, published a map on the X platform, in which he indicated that those present in a specific building on the map, located in Haret Hreik, are “near facilities and interests belonging to Hezbollah.”

The post stated: “A new urgent warning to the residents of the southern suburb, specifically those in the building specified on the map and located in Haret Hreik. You are located near Hezbollah installations and interests, against which the IDF will work in the near future.”

He added: “Prior to the strike, many steps were taken to mitigate the risk of harm to civilians, including providing advance warnings to residents in the area.”

It is noteworthy that today’s Israeli bombing comes after a 6-day lull in the southern suburbs of Beirut, with continued confrontations between the Israeli army and Hezbollah in towns and villages near the border.

This comes as sirens sounded after midnight on Wednesday in the Upper Galilee region, and two drones were spotted that entered the airspace from Lebanon and crashed without causing injuries.

The continuous artillery shelling, around the clock, also targeted the towns of Aita al-Shaab, Markaba, Hula, Rab Thilaine, Taybeh, the Al-Adisa Heights, Al-Khiyam, Kafr Shuba, and the Shebaa Heights in southern Lebanon.

The Israeli army also announced a summary of its operations against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon and “displayed pictures of weapons and equipment that it said were in the possession of Hezbollah members,” adding: “More than 140 Hezbollah targets were struck from the air, including facilities.” Storing weapons, missile launchers directed at Israeli territory, and infrastructure.”

In this context, the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced, today, Wednesday, the submission of a new complaint to the UN Security Council regarding the Israeli attacks launched on its territory.

The Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, in a statement, “The Lebanese complaint condemns Israel’s violation of the country’s sovereignty and its targeting of the army, medics, and civilians,” accusing Israel of “trying to impose its vision of security in the region by force and hostile military means.”

The current Israeli escalation against Lebanon resulted in the deaths of 2,255 people, the injury of thousands, and more than 1,200,000 displaced persons, according to official Lebanese data.
