It is planned that the 36-year-old defender will join the team, which is also represented by Latvian national team forwards Kaspars Daugaviņš and Renārs Krastenbergs, this week.
Kulda spent the previous two seasons in Austria’s strongest league unit “Villacher“, for which he scored two goals and 11 assists in 43 games last season.
Previously, the defender represented the German DEL League teams Krefeld “Penguine” and Nuremberg “Ice Tigers”, Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) clubs Cherepovets “Severstal”, Riga “Dinamo”, Beijing “Kunlun Red Star”, Helsinki “Jokerit”, Ufa “Salavat” Yulayev” and Novosibirsk “Sibir”.
Also, Kulda spent several seasons in North America, playing in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), American Hockey League (AHL) and also played 15 games in the National Hockey League (NHL), appearing episodicly for the Atlanta “Thrashers” (six games) and Winnipeg “Jets” (nine matches) in the lineups.
“Dukla” currently occupies the fifth position in the Slovakian championship extra league with 21 points won in ten games, only two points behind the leader “Spišska Nova Ves”.
