A meeting was held in the AFFA administrative building in connection with the opening of the 2025/2026 licensing season for representatives of clubs playing in the Premier League, I and II Leagues, as well as in the Women’s Major League.

According to İdman.biz, AFFA Executive Vice President Sarkhan Hajiyev, who took part in the meeting, emphasized the importance of the licensing process and wished success to all clubs.

At the same time, Anna Polatovska, a specialist from the UEFA club licensing department, spoke at the meeting and gave participants detailed information about the licensing and monitoring process of UEFA clubs, a comparative analysis of financial and other indicators of Azerbaijani football clubs, as well as licensing requirements for participation in competitions and the UEFA Champions League among women.

The following topics were discussed at the meeting:

– Review of last season and updated organizational structure of the club licensing department;
– Changes in official documents regarding the licensing process and rules compared to last season;
– On-site trainings and seminars that will be organized during the season;
– The use of an electronic portal within the licensing system since last season.

The portal is intended for clubs to submit documents, evaluate them and other issues related to the process.

At the end of the meeting, questions from club representatives were answered.

At the same time, starting from the current season, a program for the exchange of experience on licensing issues is being organized between national associations within the framework of a new UEFA project. As part of this program, licensing specialists from the Kazakhstan Football Federation (QFF) Yerzhan Musabekov, head of the QFF licensing department, took part in the above event and shared information about the licensing system used in Kazakhstan. As part of the experience exchange program, several meetings are planned by the end of the week. Thus, AFFA and QFF employees will discuss licensing issues in detail and share their experience.
