In Sancti Spíritus, the situation became tense when two people were arrested during a demonstration demanding answers about the constant electricity cuts.
According to a report from 14ymedio, this act of protest took place in the Pina neighborhood, where approximately thirty citizens gathered at 8:30 p.m. last Tuesday to express their discontent.
The lack of electricity, which was unexpectedly cut off at five in the afternoon, led protesters to take to the streets asking for explanations.
But, as usually happens on the communist island, the two Cubans who, the two Cubans who made use of their right to demonstrate peacefully for a service that was unjustly interrupted, were targets of repression and ended up under the clutches of the henchmen .
The authorities’ response was different from that experienced by other dissident groups in neighboring towns. In Báguanos (Holguín), for example, a group also protested blackouts, managing to recover power in less than half an hour and without reprisals.
The demands for clarity from the protesters, who included the elderly and children, resonated strongly, demanding that someone from the authorities give an explanation to the people about the unsustainable situation they are experiencing.

The electricity shortage not only affects Sancti Spíritus, but the problem extends to other provinces such as Holguín, and really, the rest of the island, where residents must endure up to 15 hours without daily service, or even more.
Meanwhile, the communist leadership, showing off its cynicism, continues to give itself every possible luxury, and not satisfied, they display it even on the very social networks, in order to mock the people.
