Türkiye announces a new death toll of “workers” in the Kurdistan Region and Syria

/ The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced, on Saturday, that the death toll of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and Syria had risen to 23 members, as part of operations carried out by Ankara in response to the killing of 9 Turkish soldiers during clashes with the workers as they attempted to infiltrate a Turkish base in the region.

Earlier, the Turkish Defense Ministry announced the destruction of 29 targets of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, which included hideouts, shelters, and oil facilities in the areas of Harkuk, Gara, and the Qandil Mountains, and other targets in northern Syria.

On April 17, 2022, Türkiye launched the “Claw-Lock” operation against the strongholds of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, in the areas of Matina, Al-Zab, and Afshin-Basyan, within the Kurdistan Region.
