BOLZANO. The agents of the State Police on duty at the Bolzano Flying Squad arrested this TM yesterday evening, 29 year old multiple convicted felon from Bolzanoin execution of an imprisonment order issued by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Bolzano, as he must serve the sentence of 1 year and 7 months imprisonment following the final sentence issued by the Bolzano court for the crimes of resistance and violence against a public official, voluntary personal injury, damage, escape and illegal possession of weapons.
Specifically, two years ago, the criminal had reacted violently against the policemen who intervened in via Sassari following the request for intervention made by some neighbors to the Police Headquarters operations center because, although he was under house arrest, TM, together with an accomplice, was harassing and provoking the residents of the building. Upon the arrival of the patrols of the “Flying” Squad of the Police Headquarters TM had begun to attack the officers, first verbally and then physically, causing one of them to be injured.
Yesterday, after being tracked down at his mother’s home, the man was first taken to the police headquarters and then arrested and escorted to the Bolzano prison for the purposes of serving his sentence.
In consideration of the seriousness and persistence of the behavior carried out by the convicted person, the police commissioner of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano Paolo Sartoriafter having activated the Anti-Crime Division of the Police Headquarters in this regard, ordered the start of the procedure aimed at issuing the personal prevention measure of special public security surveillance to TM, a multiple criminal offender.
“The search, identification and arrest of fugitives represents one of the priorities in the operational actions of the State Police – commented Commissioner Sartori –, and is aimed at making the sentences issued by the Judicial Authority enforceable, ensuring Justice subjects who refuse to respect the laws of our country and enabling them to undertake a re-educational path which can, once their sentences have been served, allow them to reintegrate into the community”.
