His Majesty King Mohammed VI was represented at this Summit by the Head of Government, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch.
The Moroccan delegation included the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Mr. Nasser Bourita, the Moroccan Ambassador to Bahrain, Mustapha Benkhayi, and the Moroccan Ambassador to Cairo and Permanent Delegate of the Kingdom to the Arab League, Mr. Mohamed Ait Ouali.
The Summit was marked by the speech addressed by His Majesty the King, may God help him, in which the Sovereign stressed that in these difficult times that the Palestinian question is going through following the blatant Israeli aggression against the Strip of Gaza, “We are only more determined to keep the Palestinian Cause at the center of any action aimed at establishing a just and lasting peace in the Middle East region.”
His Majesty the King also affirmed that “the future of the Arab Nation remains dependent on the ability to design a common strategic vision backed by sincere political will, to consolidate its unity and close its ranks, in the service of the common interests of our peoples, and in such a way as to realize their aspirations for greater understanding, interaction and complementarity between their different components.
The Bahrain Declaration, adopted at the end of the 33rd Arab Summit, supported the role of the Presidency of the Al-Quds Committee and the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency, ensured by HM King Mohammed VI, may God Assists him.
This support was expressed by Arab leaders in their resolution titled “Situational Developments and Israeli Violations in the Occupied Al-Quds City.”
The Arab Summit in Manama also welcomed Moroccan initiatives in the fight against terrorism and extremism and climate, while highlighting the Kingdom’s efforts to resolve the crisis in Libya.
Arab leaders reiterated their categorical rejection of any form of support given to armed groups or militias, which follow or execute foreign agendas contrary to the supreme interests of Arab countries.
They affirmed their solidarity with all Arab countries in the defense of their sovereignty and territorial integrity and the protection of their national institutions against any attempt at foreign aggression, hegemony or attack on sovereignty and Arab interests.
They furthermore reiterated the constant Arab position against terrorism, in all its forms and manifestations, and their total rejection of its motivations and pretexts, while working to dry up its sources of financing, as well as to support international efforts. aimed at combating extremist terrorist organizations, blocking their financing and confronting the dangerous consequences of this phenomenon on the region and the threats it poses to international peace and security.
The Arab Summit devoted a large part of its discussions to the Palestinian question, with the Bahrain Declaration having called, in this regard, for the deployment of international peacekeeping forces, under the United Nations, in the occupied Palestinian territories, in waiting for the implementation of the two-state solution.
In this regard, the Declaration emphasized the responsibility of the UN Security Council to take clear steps towards the implementation of the two-state solution, with the imperative of establishing a timetable for the process. political and the issuance of a resolution establishing the independent, sovereign and viable Palestinian State, with Al Quds-East as its capital, living side by side with Israel, in accordance with the resolutions of international legality and the relevant reference frameworks , including the Arab Peace Initiative.
