The Russian historical series “Outlaws” is being filmed in Baku, telling about the plight of Russian officers in exile, Day.Az reports.
Lead actor in the series Alexander Ustyugov kindly accepted the invitation of the Russian House in Baku and on his birthday, October 17, held a meeting with admirers of his talent. Guests of the evening had the opportunity to ask questions to their favorite artist and enjoy musical numbers performed by Alexander, both his own compositions and the famous authors Vysotsky and Okudzhava.
The streets of the ancient part of Baku – Icherisheher were transformed into Constantinople of the 20s of the XX century. In the twenties, huge masses of people, including officers of the White Guard, rushed away from revolutionary Russia to move through the Crimea to the Ottoman Empire, to Constantinople (the name was officially changed to Istanbul after the proclamation of the Turkish Republic in 1923). There they tried to start life again. In the film, Alexander Ustyugov plays the role of officer Sergei Neratov, who, together with his comrades in misfortune, is trying to survive in Constantinople. The main character lost his wife and children during the revolution and civil war, and in the new place the emigrants are considered outcasts. The widow of a Russian baron, Ekaterina Dikova, finds herself in an equally difficult situation, forced to become a girl of easy virtue in order to feed her son. Torn away from their homeland, deprived of their means of livelihood, Russian White Guard officers in exile are forced to engage in mortal combat with the city and with each other for their future. Famous Russian actors also star in the detective drama Kirill Kyaro, Oksana Akinshina, Sergey Marin, Vyacheslav Chepurchenko and others, as well as Azerbaijani actors and stuntmen.
The series is being created by the NTV channel, the White Media company and the Ivi online cinema with the support of the Internet Development Institute. The production director is Sergei Chekalov, the general producer is Timur Weinstein.
Production will take place for several months in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Vyborg and Baku, and the premiere should take place in 2025 on NTV and on the Ivy online service.
