Tourism ‘actors’ hope that projects will strengthen competitiveness

The First National Concertation Roundtable, an initiative promoted by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, and executed by Fontur, seeks to socialize and validate the tourism planning instruments that are being formulated in Colombia, the country of beauty.

During the space, which took place at the Externado de Colombia University, dialogue tables were held in which the actors in the tourism value chain presented their points of view on the actions to be carried out so that the projects are inclusive and are focused on strengthening the competitiveness of destinations and improving the living conditions of communities.

Juan Manrique Camargo, Vice Minister of Tourism (e), assured that “if we strengthen the public-private articulation we will be able to maximize the benefit that tourism brings to the territories, taking into account the care of the environment and the social and economic sustainability of the destinations. emerging that have been prioritized within the Tourism Sector Plan 2022-2026: Tourism in Harmony with Life.”

The senior official added that “the construction of new methodologies and the strengthening of existing ones will give us a clear panorama and a diagnosis of the work we must do to continue positioning Colombia as the country of beauty.”

During the day, four work tables were established to discuss tourism, environmental, cultural issues, territorial decentralization and the transversal axes of public policy.

Let us remember that the prioritized territories are San Andrés, Bahía Solano, Chocó, Mesetas, Meta, Valle del Sibundoy, Putumayo; Cali and Roldanillo, in the Cauca Valley; Girardot, Cundinamarca; Murillo, Tolima; Uribia and Cabo de la Vela in La Guajira; Puerto Nariño, Amazonas; Santa Marta, Magdalena, and the Coffee Cultural Landscape (53 municipalities in Risaralda, Quindío, Caldas and Valle del Cauca).
