Lotafiya Mahmoud Zabad, a resident of Baqa al-Gharbiya who has been missing for two and a half years, contacted her daughter Jasmine last night and informed her that she was alive. The daughter, who has been looking for her mother all these years, was surprised to hear her mother from the other side and talked about it this morning (Tuesday) with Golan Yokfaz and Anat Davidov on their program on 103FM.
As is well known, the mother, who apparently suffers from a memory problem, has lived for the past two and a half years on a street in Paris. Last night, a Lebanese citizen who assisted her realized that this was a missing woman, reported to the authorities and took her to the police station.
Her daughter Jasmine, who had been in the city for months, was forced to return to Israel without her mother but has not stopped looking for her since. “How did the last three years fall on me? I can not tell you. In the middle of the night, I was called by the rescue unit of my mother’s search and told that they had found my mother,” she said. “I asked where she was? And he said she was at the police station.”

Jasmine said she had a conversation with the mother: “I saw my mother in front of my eyes. My mother is wonderful, beautiful you do not understand. She missed me very much.”
She explained: “She has no memory, she does not understand what is happening to her. She told me she tried to look for us and did not find. A woman who helps people asking for food found my mother on the street.”
She added: “We will bring her to Israel with all our might. I talked to the consul, maybe I will go there. She is with the police, they are watching her so that nothing happens to her, that she does not run away.”
