CAN-Morocco 2025: the draw for the preliminary round of the qualifiers Tuesday in Cairo (CAF)
Cairo – The draw for the preliminary round of the qualifiers for the African Cup of Nations “CAN TotalEnergies Morocco 2025” will take place on Tuesday in Cairo, announced the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
While the 34th edition of the CAN has just ended in Ivory Coast, attention is now focused on the next edition, with the draw for the preliminary round of the CAN-Morocco 2025 qualifiers, scheduled for this Tuesday February 20 in Cairo, Egypt, indicates CAF in a press release published on its website.
This preliminary round will take place with the eight lowest ranked teams according to the FIFA rankings, namely Somalia, Djibouti, Sao Tome, Chad, Mauritius, South Sudan, Liberia and Eswatini, specifies the same source.
The matches will be played back and forth during the FIFA window from March 18 to 26, 2024, adds CAF, noting that the four winners of the preliminary round will join the 44 exempt teams for the group stage of the qualifiers.
