(Rozeena Ali) Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has said that even if there is no consensus on the constitutional amendment, the amendment will be presented. Efforts are being made to present the amendment today. If so, we will vote.
Speaking to the media outside the Parliament House, Khawaja Asif said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) sought permission to meet its leader so that they could support this constitutional amendment. A meeting was held.
The defense minister said that our numbers are complete, a consensus draft has been prepared, amendments are not made on a daily basis, our main effort is to get as many people as possible to support the amendment, our numbers are complete, we would like a consensus. It was established, the consensus draft was prepared, the main purpose of the amendment is to establish the supremacy of the parliament, in two or three years, such decisions came out that put a question mark on the supremacy of the parliament, all the parties that are in the assembly are in agreement.
The Defense Minister said that no one wants to compromise on the supremacy of the Parliament, they are trying to build a consensus, the judiciary should work within the defined role, Khawaja Asif further said that it is being said People have been abducted, let us know who has been abducted, the party making false narratives is making up stories, they have set up a factory to make all these false narratives, everyone is present in their homes, all people are also present on the telephone at home. I am also present, they are seeing that the amendment will be passed, if this constitutional amendment is passed, then their shelters will end.
Khawaja Asif further said that I respect Sardar Akhtar Mengal, I will refrain from commenting on him, we have to fight to establish a consensus, if there is no consensus, we will vote, only voting. There is an option, we are not being blackmailed.
