Through a media release mentioning the outstretched hand of the Sacred Union of Guinean Forces, ANAD, the political FNDC, RPG_AEC and the UFC sanctioned their withdrawal for non-compliance with the assigned objective.

Contacted by our editorial staff this Tuesday, October 15, 2024, Ousmane Dadi Camara, president of the RGT party and the COPAD coalition, founding member of the Sacred Union, explains this decision by the desire of his component to proceed in a preventive manner.

For them, many sacrifices have been made, the best is to go around the table to avoid bloodshed.

“One thing we have to recognize is that it was they who started making decisions that were not shared by the group. On the other hand, when we left for this conference, we discussed it on the platform. What I think of their exit is that it is regrettable. And what should unite us is more than what divides us.”

For him, the objective remains the same. “This initial vision is still maintained, it is the return to constitutional order. And this vision from the start, it’s not them who read it, it’s us. It is true that we gave in instead to go to them, to the headquarters of the UFDG, but it was not them who defined this vision. We saw the one who read it, he is a member of the Convergence, you saw, you are aware, he is in court today with his party, which is the CEO RDA. And they did nothing,” said the president of the RGT.

According to him, this approach is a priority in the common interest of Guineans. “Yes, not the goal of giving him another chance, but giving our nation a chance for peace. And we believe that it is legal. We believe that discussing before something brings us to the table is legal. We don’t want to do the macabre counts, after coming back around a table, when we could come well before that. It is important to protect human life, to protect the lives of Guineans.

We don’t need there to be problems afterwards, we come back to the table, that’s not what we want.

It’s not somewhere. We do not want violence in our country. You know, it’s very easy to talk about violence when it doesn’t directly impact you.

That’s it, when you don’t have members dying directly, it’s easy. But imagine that a member of your family falls. Do you see how long you will be in mourning?

So, think the same thing for others too, to protect the activists and supporters of your party. This is not our vision, sincerely. And for that, we hope, we always favor a law that is not violence.

So the others prioritize violence? Apparently, this is their plan to return to the table,” he says. And added: “At that moment, they are always ready to debate, to discuss, but to discuss, at what moment?

Do they want to cure the disease? maybe. And we want to prevent disease. The choice is yours.”
